Asheville, NC here we come
It's official! John has accepted a job in Asheville, North Carolina pending completion of paperwork. He will be teaching Business to students in grades 6-8. It sounds like the curriculum is pretty similar to what he was teaching during his student teaching, so that should make the transition a little simpler. Although we will still be four hours away from the proud grandparents, we are looking forward to being in North Carolina.
We are flying out to Raleigh on Thursday and will be making a trip to Asheville to check things out and look for a place to live. I tried to post some pictures but all I could come up with was the link, so you'll all have to find your own for now. We will post some after the trip.
For all of you Benjamin junkies, the camera is currently out of batteries- but I did hear a distinct laugh yesterday morning while nursing! I think it may be a fluke since he was mostly asleep at the time and has not repeated it, but it really was a laugh.

10 weeks old today!
So I was trying to take pictures after Ben's bath that were not too revealing... Here are the only two that are not! I guess my baby is just a bit of an exhibitionist!

Yes, he still has his curls, although his hair is starting to get a little thin on the sides where he rubs his head when I am not picking him up fast enough.
This is something I've been meaning to post for a while and finally got around to taking pictures for- Benjamin's ears are different! The right ear has an extra ridge in it. I'm not sure if that will eventually go away or if he will always have this quirk. For now, it is fun!

As a final update, he weighed 13.5 pounds today! (That does include a diaper and the scale only does 1/2 pound increments)

Learning new things...
So while John is walking in the wilderness for Anasazi, I am in charge of the pictures. So here are some pictures of the latest accomplishments:

Benjamin has learned to grab and shake the rings we have hanging over the bassinet. He even gets them into his mouth sometimes. This is good for at least 20 minutes of entertainment at a stretch, sometimes more. And:

Ben really loves the mirror on the back of his makeshift changing table. He will stare and stare at it, which is good for distracting him. This also means it gets peed on rather often!
